Who we are

AssetsManager is published by Info-Sphere Ireland Limited ("we", "us"), a company registered in Ireland. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts, we are the data controller for the limited personal data described below. You can reach us at support@info-sphere.ie.

What stays on your device

Everything you record about your things stays in the app's database on your phone: names, categories, prices and dates, sold prices, warranty dates, mileage and condition, values you enter, notes, your wishlist, and any photos you attach — photos are stored as image data inside the record itself, so an item renders with no network at all.

None of it is transmitted to us, backed up to our servers, or synchronised between devices. There is no copy anywhere but your phone — which is why the app has an export: deleting the app deletes your records, and only a backup file you made and kept can bring them back.

No accounts, no sync

There is no sign-up, no password and no cloud copy. The honest cost of that design falls on you: a lost or wiped phone with no exported backup is lost data, and we cannot help, because we never had a copy. Profile › Data Import/Export makes the backup file; a locked backup is encrypted on your phone with a passphrase we never see.

Anonymous usage statistics

When the app opens with a connection, it sends one ping: a random installation identifier the app generated on first run — never a hardware identifier, never an advertising identifier — with the device model, operating system version, app version and platform. The server notes the IP address the connection came from and the country it maps to. We use this to count installs and daily opens, nothing more.

The daily records that contain an IP address are deleted after 12 months. Reinstalling the app generates a new identifier — the old one connects to nothing.

Lookups the app makes

The app downloads reference data: configuration, exchange rates, price indices, per-country valuation tables and 3D models. These are downloads — requests say nothing about what you own. The valuation request is deliberately shaped to carry only your chosen country: the whole country's price table comes down and the matching happens on your phone, precisely so the server never learns what you have.

One feature sends something you typed to a third party, and only when you use it: searching for an app's icon as item art sends that search text to Apple's public iTunes Search API. Your choice — and your items — never follow it.

If you upgrade

The App Store or Google Play takes the payment; we never see your name, your address or your card. Our server keeps a verification record — platform, product, a store transaction identifier, status and dates, keyed to the random installation identifier — which is what lets the upgrade be restored on a new phone and revoked on a refund.

Feedback you send us

The in-app feedback form sends the message you wrote, the kind you picked, and the app version and platform. A reply address is stored only if you typed one, and only so we can answer. Ask and we will delete it — see Delete my data.

Server logs

The API keeps a request log — method, path, status, duration, IP address and country — for spotting abuse and diagnosing faults. It is deleted after 90 days.

What we never do

• No advertising, and no advertising SDKs in the app.
• No third-party analytics — the anonymous counts above are our own.
• No tracking across apps or sites, and nothing shared for tracking.
• No selling of data, of any kind, to anyone.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

Who else can see it

The short list of services that touch the data described above:

• Cloudflare — the network edge in front of this site and the API.
• Our own server in Ireland — where the API and its database run.
• Microsoft Azure — file storage for the downloadable 3D models (reference data only, nothing of yours).
• Apple and Google — the stores, for payment and app distribution under their own policies.
• Apple's iTunes Search API — receives an artwork search only when you use that feature.

Your rights

You have the GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection — and the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission. Honesty about scope: for your records the rights are in your own hands, because the data is on your device and the export is the portability. What we can act on is the server side — the feedback address and the installation identifier — and we will, at support@info-sphere.ie, within one month.

Children

The app is not directed at children, has no accounts, no social features and no profiling. We knowingly hold no data about anyone, child or adult, beyond what this page describes.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new "last updated" date; a material change is also announced in the app.
